Many different conditions can be treated by an osteopathic manual practitioner. Pain in the low back, neck, spine and joints are common conditions addressed, as well as myofascial or soft tissue issues. Osteopathic manual practitioners can also treat headaches and problems with the jaw. The treatment does not focus on only one area, but uses manual techniques to balance all the body systems to be able to provide overall health and well-being.

Physiotherapy encompasses rehabilitation, injury prevention and health promotion. It focuses on the science of movement to help individuals restore movement, function and overall well-being by addressing the underlying physical issue. A chiropractor is a healthcare professional focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal system disorders, particularly those affecting the spine and nervous system. They use hands-on techniques like spinal manipulation (adjustments) and other complementary therapies to improve joint alignment, reduce pain, and enhance overall body function.

Candice Aston. (Physiotherapist and Osteopathic Manual Practitioner- MScP.T., D.O.M.P. HBSc.H.K.)

Candice Aston graduated from the University of Guelph with an honours bachelors of science in Human Kinetics in 2001. In 2006 she graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy. She has extensive experience working in the rehabilitation setting helping people recover from pain and other health issues. In 2015, Candice graduated from the Canadian College of Osteopathy with a Diploma in Osteopathic Manual practice (D.O.M.P.). This has furthered her extensive knowledge of the human body and how to help her patients recover their overall health and well being. With over 12 years of post graduate education, Candice has a wide variety of techniques and tools to use for many health conditions. She did her thesis with the Canadian College of Osteopathy on those suffering with jaw problems, however using the general principles of osteopathy she treats the body as a whole no matter what the condition. The combination of Physiotherapy and Osteopathy give an immense amount of expertise and training that can help you recover your overall health. Candice has also done numerous post-graduate courses in exercise prescription, chronic pain, manual therapy and acupuncture.

Lady France is an enthusiastic physiotherapist assistant and fitness instructor passionate about health and wellness. She completed her studies overseas at Dr. MGR University and holds a degree in physiotherapy and certifications in preventive cardiology, advanced management strategies in sports injuries and arthritis, functional rehabilitation of cerebral palsy, clinical approach, and recent trends in shoulder management. She presented a paper at an international yoga conference about postmenopausal osteoporosis. She is skilled in leading private and group fitness classes, assessing client needs, and promoting sustainable habits for lifelong wellness through yoga and exercise sessions.

Dr. Manuel Gil graduated with highest honours in 2013 from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. During his undergraduate years, he volunteered at the Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Center as a chiropractic assistant which sparked his interest in the healthcare and the Chiropractic profession.

Dr. Gil started chiropractic school in 2014, winning the R. Lloyd Pennington Memorial award for the highest admission score and the CMCC Entrance Scholarship for the highest GPA upon admission. While Dr. Gil was completing his chiropractic studies, he held leadership positions on several committees, most notably the Student Canadian Chiropractic Association where he sat as vice-president and subsequently president. Dr. Gil graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2018.

Dr. Gil has several years of experience treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, and has a special interest in treating sports injuries, having volunteered his expertise for a semi-pro football team. He has advanced training in instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy and enjoys incorporating deep tissue work along with his adjustments. Dr. Gil’s interest in deep tissue treatments eventually led him to the Ontario College of Health and Technology where he achieved a diploma in Registered Massage Therapy. Now, Dr. Gil splits his time between both Chiropractic and Registered Massage care.

France attended the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy for four rigorous years of academic and clinical studies to receive her Master in Practice Diploma of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (M.OMSc). As a qualified Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, her goal when meeting with her patients is to work with them and their bodies to get to the root cause of the issue so that the body may begin the self-healing and self-regulating process.

Before enrolling into the osteopathy program, France studied nursing for one year and midwifery for two years. She has always known that she wanted to work in the health care field in order to help people feel better.

Deepesh has over three years of experience specializing in elderly care, orthopaedics and musculoskeletal conditions. Deepeshraj is dedicated to enhancing patient outcomes through evidence-based and personalized therapies.
